Welcome to the Show!

The more I learn about the fashion industry the more I find about the negative impacts it currently has. After learning about the exploitative labor involved in clothing and the unimaginable amount of waste fashion brings to marginalized people, I have worked to reduce my contribution to unethical or unknown clothing manufacturing and clothing waste. (I say reduce, as after a recent loss I needed some clothes that I could not find second hand and also went into buying things I honestly did not need. I mention this to show that this venture is not about perfection, but collaborative improvement.)

While knowing these things about the industry, my love for fashion and clothes remains. So, what do I do? I think this is a question a lot of us have and it leaves us feeling stuck. Therefore, I want to document my time styling my clothes, learning to mend, upcycle, and repurpose in interesting ways that help reduce clothing waste fashionably. I want to show there are ways to upcycle and reduce waste that are fun and not just the neutral images we often see when sustainable clothing is mentioned. (Note: I still wear TONS of neutrals) I hope this encourages you to do the same or at least sparks a conversation.

Please join me on my journey to be a more conscious consumer and work towards a more sustainable future!
